Vapor Rub

'Winter is coming' vapor rub.

Did you know that store-bought vapor rub is often manufactured with petroleum by-products? 
Pickle has a homemade blend that excludes that nasty stuff whilst including more skin nourishment.

The base is a blend of organic extra virgin olive oil, sweet almond oil, organic extra virgin coconut oil and raw beeswax. Then, therapeutic essential oils are added to create a potion that smells amazing and can work wonders. The oils I use are cinnamon cassia, rosemary, peppermint, eucalyptus and sweet orange. This rub is good for anyone in the family over the age of 10.
 
Please do not use on small children (under 8), because of the 1, 8-cineol content in rosemary and eucalyptus, and the use of cinnamon and cloves. The 1,8-cineol can slow respiration in some children. 

I do make a very safe, gentle version for small children with fir needle, cedarwood, cypress, juniper berry, cobaiba balsam, rosalina, and frankincense.

I have used this a few times when my kids have been sick and it seems to help with their congestion. I am so happy to have this in my medicine cabinet!
